Ethan's Birthday Day

What Ethan wanted for his birthday was a day at the Goofy Golf. Go-Karts, putt-putt, video games. Lots of fun. We went on a perfect day - nice and sunny, but not hot. Just right. So we took the girls to spend some time with grandpa and off we went. We went out to a fancy dinner at Burger King first and then it was on to have some fun. He was able to ride on the Big Track with Dad behind the wheel. First couple times around I wasn't sure if he was gonna make it, he was looking a little green, but he perked up when people tried to pass them and dad wouldn't let them :)Having a blast. He so wanted to ride in the #24 car, he is a Gordon fan. Then he got his turn behind the wheel. He is just a bit under the height limit for the big tracks, next year I'm sure he'll be ready. He was having a great time racing around the Jr Track.Cool Golf course was a good time. Love the little houses!
We don't get to spend to much time with the kids one at a time, so this was refreshing to have the whole afternoon to hang out with our little 8 year old man. He is already talking about coming back for his birthday next year!

First Day of School

I know school started here two weeks ago, but I started back to work too so my blogging is a little delayed. Anywhoo. Ethan started 2nd grade on Monday August 25 and Elena started kindergarten on Tuesday August 26. So far school seems to be going great for both of them. So nice to see them looking forward to going to school. They both are doing well so far and making friends. Here is Ethan standing by our first day of school tree Still 7, but almost 8 years old.Elena has always held up how many fingers old she is. As you can see she is 5.Here they are waiting in the gym with their class waiting to start the day!And after a long first day of taking kids to school and going to the babysitter, here is Natalie when I came into the living room to call her for dinner. First day was hard on her! We have survived so far and are looking forward to what this new school year will bring:)

Happy 8th Birthday Ethan!

After days of reminiscing about the day when I first became a mom, it is finally here. Our sweet little man is now eight years old! I was told yesterday that he no longer looks like a little baby. He has changed into a big kid. That he looks like a little man. We didn't plan as big of party as we usually would have this year. We scaled it back and just invited family. Instead of one huge party, or a separate friend party he is selecting one friend and we are going to a sports park and riding go-karts, bumper boats, mini golf etc. So he is still thinking of which friend to choose and we will do that next weekend. The cousins all had fun. I was so glad that my nephew was able to come up and spend the night with us last night and hang out today. We hadn't seen him since the beginning of summer.
We had the two splash pools set up and a bucket of water balloons, squirt guns and of course the hose will do.Ethan isn't a huge cake fan, so we made an ice cream cake and some ice cream sandwiches instead. A perfect ending to ALL THE FOOD everyone brought. We had more than enough and it was all great! We had a perfect day. Warm, sunny, nice breeze and the family just hung out for most of the afternoon. Great way to spend Labor Day and to remember my first LABOR DAY!!
When my 8 lb 10 oz baby boy entered the world. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ETHAN ROBERT!
