Pumpkin Carvin' and Trick or Treatin'

We had a good time this Halloween. Here are the pumpkins we carved this year. Natalie's is on the left, Ethan in the middle and Elena on the right. They are pretty spooky! Ethan did his on his own this year. Guts and all.
The girls were a little more grossed out. Natalie did a few scoops and handed the scooper to me. Elena got daddy to help her.Trick or Treat night here in our town we went to my Grandparents to have dinner like we do every year. My sister was there to help them pass out their candy so grandpa got a shot of all the kids in their costumes. For his Halloween party at school Ethan wanted to make his own costume this year, so this is the idea we ended up with. A green Lego.Trick or Treat at Aunt Sandy's house. We like to go here because trick or treat is always during the day. Much easier for the little ones to get around and not scarey either. Here we are before we ventured out. Ethan decided he could make more ground in his pirate costume. We met up with cousin Stephen so we had to get a shot, Jason always manages to not get in the pics, so I told him to stand with the group and he is trying to hide behind EthanWhat a cute group of treaters, even if Jason is hiding.Elena loved examining what she got at each stopOn to the next house! We passed out candy at our house and Grandma Janet came by to help and so did Aunt Tracy. The kids really enjoyed themselves this year. Hope you did too!

Pumpkin Carving

This year was an unusual one. With it being so warm we bought our pumpkins a bit too early. They turned to mush a few weeks back. So that meant another exciting trip out to the pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins to carve. Oh what fun! So the kids were all geared up, had their faces planned out and set to work. Ethan completely did his on his own. I helped him just a bit with cutting the lid off. He did a great job! Miss Elena entertained us the whole time by imitating Linus from the peanuts Great Pumpkin by saying over and over. "You didn't tell me you were gonna kill it, aaawwwww" Pretty funny.
Natalie wasn't too sure and wouldn't touch anything at first, but once grandma started helping her she enjoyed checking for seeds. She kept peeking inside and saying "seed!" and Grandma would get it out. Funny. We washed up and baked the seeds and ended the night watching home videos. It was great! Love to go back over those. There are a few of Elena that I soo need to send into Funniest Videos. Prize winners for sure.

Trick or Treat night the kids got to help pass out candy so they posed with their pumpkin masterpieces. And here is the scary result...oooooohhhhhh spooky!

Halloween Party 2007

What a fun filled weekend we had! Ethan started out the weekend by having his Halloween party at school Friday. So preparing for that we made cut out cookies and put together some treat bags for all his classmates. Saturday we went to his school for their Halloween fun fest. So we get in gear to be a witch, a vampire, and a kitty cat (because that's what Dora dresses like) The kids had so much fun going last year, I could hardly get them to sleep Friday night.
Here Ethan is picking a prize for playing one of the games.Elena waiting for her turn to play the game.Ethan and his buddy from his class. Such silly little boys.Natalie really got into this treat thing! She didn't want to play any games, she just gave each person a ticket and picked a prize. She was lovin' it!Here they are on Sunday before we went Trick or Treating. Aren't they sweet? Natalie even let me put her ears on this time. You really can't tell in this pic, but Ethan has green hair and Elena has pink. Natalie wanted me to color her hair too. (I couldn't because she looked too cute, so I put her ears on and she was happy with that.) Cousin Stephen was looking awesome as the Tin Man. He even had the tin man walk going on. hee, hee.

They ended the day with a ton of treats. Natalie even kept up with the bigger kids for most of the time. They did a good job waiting for her and sticking together. She insisted on walking and was thrilled when she got m & m's!!

We had dinner with family afterwards. Always nice to get together. Now we have to carve some pumpkins and get our treats ready to pass out at our house. More fun ahead...
