A Couple weeks back we had a gorgeous fall day and were able to take advantage of a fall festival that was at our fairgrounds. This was the first year we went and although it was a bit chaotic, I think the kids had a good time. Everything is FREE. Yes It does read FREE! There are crafts and activities, books, a straw maze, petting zoo, pumpkins and free food. Donuts, cider, hot dogs, carmel apples and popcorn. We didn't wait in the huge line for a hot dog, we went home and grilled some ourselves, but the popcorn was yummy! We saw some friends while we were there. Ethan and Elena both had someone to go through the maze with. Miss Natalie was too scared though.

Going on a Leaf Hunt...
We finally had a chance with some nice weather to go out to our reservoir and enjoy some of the fall splendor. We are so lucky to have this place so close to our home. It is one of my fave places to get out and walk the trails and this time of year to soak up some of God's beautiful workmanship.
Our original plan was to go on a leaf hunt, but we pretty much missed peak and most of the leaves have already fallen, but it was so nice and peaceful out there. Lots of people out walking dogs and playing at the park. We did find a few pretty leaves still lingering. It was a nice afternoon.

What a fun weekend!
I cannot believe it is October in Ohio. We have been having some unseasonably warm weather lately. This is how we spent our time on Sunday. In bathing suits in the back yard or hiding inside in the a/c. Unbelievable. It has been nice though since I really am not ready to be cooped up in the house just yet.
The girls spent hours outside making up games with the balls. Ethan eventually joined in the fun.
Sunday we spent a nice day together. Still didn't make it to the corn maze, but we have a few weeks. We headed out to a local apple orchard with the plan of going on a hayride, picking some apples and before we left going through the corn maze. Well it was way in the 80's and quite humid and by the time we did all the fun little kids things they had, the kids were hot and hungry and an air-conditioned McDonalds sounded much better than sweltering any more. So we decided to make another day of the other fun things. Still early in the month...
What a cute bunch!
Ethan and Elena took a little train ride around the pumpkin patch.
Then they had water toy races.
Look how they are growing.. like little weeds:)
Then after our day of fun at the orchard, we headed to Bill's sisters for a cookout. Since the weather was so nice we decided to get together, cook out, get a fire going. All that fun stuff. So miss Natalie had to spruce up a bit and put on her favorite boots.

Aunt Tracy and Aunt Sandy making up some yummy smores...
Princess Elena swinging away with her chocolatey treat.
Ethan and Stephen playing with glo sticks.
Natalie's favorite part of the day. A major discovery! An open unguarded bag of marshmallows!!
So glad we had another chance to spend some time enjoying the good weather with family!
